Privacy and complaints

We hold business information about care providers. We do not hold information about the people who receive care.

What we hold

Provider details
Organisation name, outlet addresses, ABN and region, from the AIHW GEN Aged Care Service List and the NDIS Commission's register of registered providers. Both are published by government.
Published prices
Service names and prices as published on providers' own websites, with the page address and the date we read it.
Archived pages
A copy of each page we read, kept so that any figure can be traced to its source and corrected. Not republished.
Business contact details
A general business email address or phone number for the provider, so we can send them their own figures.
Requests you send us
If you ask for your price report through the form on this site: your organisation, website, email address, anything you typed in the note, and when you asked. That record is also how we know you asked us to reply — it is kept for as long as we are in contact, and deleted when you ask.
Correspondence
Emails you send us, and a note of anyone who has asked not to be contacted.

What we do not hold

  • Any information about care recipients, their families, or their care.
  • Health information of any kind.
  • Care workers’ personal details.
  • Payment card details. We do not currently take payments through this site.

How we use it

To calculate regional price benchmarks, to show a provider where its own published prices sit, and to contact providers about that. We do not sell contact details, and we do not pass provider information to other providers.

Benchmarks are aggregates. Where a figure is published, at least five providers stand behind it and none of them is named.

Your choices

  • Stop the crawler. Block ClearPriceBot in robots.txt — see the crawler page.
  • Have your data deleted. Ask, and we delete the prices, archived pages and contact details we hold for your organisation, and exclude you from future collection.
  • Stop hearing from us. Ask, and we will not contact you again. This is recorded so it survives future collection runs.
  • See what we hold. Ask, and we will send you your organisation’s records.

We action these within 5 business days and confirm when done. There is no charge.

Where information is held, and who else sees it

Our database is held in Australia. We do not sell provider information, and we do not pass it to other providers.

Two overseas services are involved, and we would rather name them than bury them.

  • Firecrawl (United States) retrieves public pages for us. It receives the address of each public page we ask it to read and returns that page’s content, so the text of your published pricing page passes through it. That content is already public on your own website.
  • Resend (United States) delivers the email we send you — the confirmation when you ask for a report, and our replies. It handles your email address and the message itself.

No information about care recipients reaches either of them, because we hold none.

Complaints

If something we have published about your organisation is wrong, or you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, email us and say so plainly. We will respond within 5 business days, tell you what we found, and correct anything that is wrong.

Email hello@clearprice.com.au

If we cannot resolve it between us, you can take a privacy complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
